Position Overview: The Payments Risk & Compliance Manager will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization by leading efforts to manage risk and ensure regulatory compliance within our payments operations. This position requires a strategic, detail-oriented professional who can evaluate, develop, and enforce compliance policies and risk management practices in alignment with payments industry standards. As a trusted advisor to senior management, the Risk & Compliance Manager will conduct risk assessments, drive internal audits, and maintain crucial regulatory relationships. This role is essential to fostering a culture of compliance, protecting our organization’s integrity, and supporting our growth in a rapidly evolving financial landscape

Roles and Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for payment operations, defining risk tolerance and implementing mitigation strategies aligned with company objectives

Draft, update, and review compliance policies to ensure alignment with current regulatory requirements and industry standards

Work closely with legal teams to align on payments structure and associated regulatory and compliance requirements by market/product

Lead regular internal audits, monitor compliance performance, and maintain thorough records of all compliance practices and corrective actions

Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and stay current with updates to relevant regulations, providing proactive guidance to internal teams

Develop and lead training sessions to keep internal stakeholders and employee groups informed of compliance policies and foster a compliance-driven culture

Prepare detailed reports for top-level management, summarizing key compliance findings and offering strategic advice for risk mitigation

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Compliance, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus (e.g., CRCM, CAMS)

5+ years of experience in a risk and compliance role, preferably within payments, financial services, or a highly regulated industry

Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in both North America and Europe

Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Experience with compliance technology and risk management software
